Joshua J. Engelbart

Josh Engelbart handles the trials of civil lawsuits for a number of the firm's clients.

Josh had one of the top 25 defense wins in 2022 as reported by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. His was the only top defense win reported for a case tried in the City of St. Louis, a venue that is ranked as a top ten Judicial Hellhole per the American Tort Reform Foundation. Plaintiff's last demand before trial was $1.2 million and in closing argument, plaintiff's counsel asked the jury to award $3.1 million. The jury agreed with Josh's defense arguments and awarded a mere $50,000.

He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers, a distinction received by only 5% of the lawyers in the state. Previously, Josh was recognized as a Rising Star by the same service. At law school, Josh graduated in the top 20% of his class and was a Note & Comment Editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution. Josh is a member of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers (MODL) and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

Josh has served in a number of roles volunteering with youth sports and his church, including past service on the West County Board for CYC Basketball, as the Director of Basketball for his parish, and as the past secretary for the parish’s Men’s Club. In addition, he has coached boys and girls in CYC youth basketball leagues for over 10 years.
